Ride the Rhino is back
30 September to 2 October 2011
3 Days / Only 200 Teams (2 people) / 255km / 4200 climbing
Langebaan to Durbanville
This year we've split the race into a Black Rhino and a White Rhino. The Black Rhino is similar to last
year's race and the White Rhino is more for the fun riders.
Black Rhino
Day 1: 85 km/1650m climb,
Day 2: 90 km/1500m
Day 3: 80 km/1500m
White Rhino
The White Rhino will end at the waterpoint closest to 60 km each day.
Riders will be doing this unforgettable trip of 3 days, kicking off in Langebaan passing through the West
Coast National Park, Darling and Malmesbury and ending in Durbanville. Along the way, you will be
cycling through the natural splendour and remnants of the remaining Renosterveld – today only 4% left.
And it’s high blooming season, ensuring that the landscape will be alive with colour. Within these 3 days
one will realise just how tragic it would be, having to lose this unique habitat – the Renosterveld. The
month of September is also Rhino Month (launched by the World Wildlife Fund, WWF) last year.
If you did the very successful Ride the Rhino in 2010, you know exactly why you must do it again. And
if you missed it – you better enter quickly - because the best thing about our events is that we keep it
small (only 200 teams), ensuring you the best service, best route, home made meals and no queues!
